Hi, the name is Jesús Mastache Caballero and I’m a Game Developer.

I’ve been working with Unity (C#) and Unreal Engine (Blueprints/C++) as my primary choices to start the prototype/development of a game, working first in drafts to understand and start developing the core mechanics of the game. I like to keep looking for better ways to work with the currents tools that are used at the moment, or new tools that can make us more efficient. I prefer more in the use of a command line rather than a GUI (versatile and more efficient), and the use of source management (git and git-lfs) is a must have, specially if many team members are involved in one project.

Currently I work at GoldenPie Studio as Gameplay and tool programmer. My role consist in programming the game rules and machanics that the game designers at my team come with, helping to prototype and in cases where it’s necesary, create actors/components that helps our game and level designers to create assets faster and with higher quality. If I have the time to spend, I also help creating python scripts (mostly shell commands) to convert or treat external assets that will be later imported to the engine in use (TexturePacker -> Obj Python Script). Also I help my teammates and coworkers sharing my knowledge when is required or a new tool/pipeline/technology is required, like the adoption of git as source management, slack as a tool of communication (remote working is inevitable sometimes), trello for work assignment, GitLab’s Issues list/boards for bugs tracking.
